Yes the new cable car to the summit is working - and quite well designed, I might say. The buildings are facilities/walkways are quite discreet, not too tacky. It's a great trip - saves a lot of sweat!
Dr Joseph Rock was an Austrian-American botanist who explored the Tibetan borderlands of Sichuan and Yunnan in the 1920s and 30s. This is about my travels to revisit the places he described in the National Geographic magazine. Any questions? contact me at beijingweek AT gmail

Is the new cable car working ? It was damaged by the wind when I visited in March 2012..
