Muli: return trip in April

Muli: juniper burning oven, originally uploaded by muti konka.

I'll be returning to Muli in late April this year. The plan is to take the bus to Jiulong from Kangding and walk along the Yangwe Kong valley down to Sanyanlong, visit the holy mountain of Maidi Gangga (via Mundon) and then continue down into the Yalong river canyon and over to Muli monastery. I'm allowing myself three weeks. No tent this time - staying with local all the way. My only problem is trying to decide which cameras to take with me (or rather, which ones to leave at home).

The next few pictures were NOT taken by me - they are from a Chinese hiker's website. I've reproduced them here to give some idea of the trek from Kangding to Gongga Shan ( you can see my own pictures in the archive).
