At the end of April I will be flying to Chengdu and making my way back to this isolated village on the edge of the Yalong river canyon, south of Kangding. It is a tiny settlement of Pumi people on the eastern side of the Yalong, near the mounatin Maidi Gangga. Situated at about 4000m, when Joseph Rock passed through in 1927 he called it a "dreary hamlet". This is the village (Buddhist) temple.
