If you too want to follow in Rock's footsteps, here's the map. But beware - his dotted lines across blank spaces are deceptive. Crossing from Muli to the Shouchu river took us four arduous days over what looks like a centimetre of nothing! The names of places and other features are still accurate, although many spots are now referred to by the Chinese names as well. For instance, Tsengu Gompa is now Chonggu Si. And Konkaling is now Gangarling.
