Some way north of Daocheng we came across this monastery in the hills. According to my Chinese guidebook, Bengpu temple was built by the first ruler Gemaba Dusong Qinba in 1144. Inside there is a rare statue of the first ruler Gemamba Dusong Qingba, as well as some of his writings and paintings. It also says the monks there often go to the river to stroke the schools of fish that swim in it and feed them roasted qingke barley flour.
Pic from of Bengpu from my guidebook with the river in flow.
A closer look.
