This is the view from a new bridge in the same place as the one seen in the picture above. The modern bridge is a simple and unremarkable concrete one, and carries the main highway (ie a dirt track) running north from "Muli" [county town] to Muli San Qu [3rd district].

I took this picture out of the window of a jeep as we were heading south over this epic trail. It took a whole day on tortuous switchback roads to reach the main town of Muli.

The landscape looks unusually green and fertile because this was August, the middle of the wet season.
